Reflections on 2022

2022 has truly been an extraordinary year as I reflect on both my professional and personal accomplishments!

 1) Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, often talks about finding ‘purpose’ at work. I can finally say that after navigating my career for about the past 15 years I landed a role that allows for me to do that. I’m “People Obsessed” and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to be for this stage of my life. Working on the VivaHR team focused on the Employee Experience energizes me every day!

 2) Promoted to Director, huge highlight of my Microsoft career so far. I am fortunate to operate in a space where my leadership recognizes my strengths and creates an environment where I feel empowered, while showing up as my authentic self!! So much gratitude for Rich Kaplan and Chris Fernandez.

3) Continued to walk in my purpose as a “multibizlingual” leader and community mentor. As a customer advisor to MISO, I helped land a Data Estate deal with Microsoft; as a founding member, I supported the Fourth Annual Women IN Energy Conference, featuring the FERC Commissioner from the US Department of Energy and Platinum Sponsor Microsoft; as a community mentor, I inspired tomorrow's leaders to dream big during the "Healed at Hello" workshop I led for the Young Women's College Preparatory Academy in Houston, Texas; as a passionate advocate for Diversity & Inclusion, I headlined a panel at the *Women In Tech Regatta on Diversity by Design and raising underrepresented voices in tech where I spoke about the burden of code switching as a woman of color in tech...and much more!

 4) Launched my 1st book (!) where I feel sharing my journey through this world engulfed in uncertainty allows me to live out my purpose statement everyday: “To empower everyone that I encounter to become the best version of themselves and to discover purpose”. Through my vulnerability I hope to inspire, encourage and empower others as they navigate their moments of uncertainty. Find my book here: Conquering Uncertainty- Don’t concede too soon, your Victory awaits you.

I’m grateful for every lesson and blessing that filled 2022 and I’m in great expectation for what 2023 has in store.
