Where my Uncertainty Journey began

Moments of uncertainty for me began when I was in my mother’s womb. A 27-year old woman with two small children already, finds out that she’s pregnant by a man who she loved dearly weeks after their break-up. The timing could not have been any worse, in the midst of picking up the pieces of her broken heart. She then had to process the fact that was carrying his baby. Confused, conflicted, and caught up in a conundrum of emotions, she was left contemplating two options: keep this baby or abort. After consulting with people in her close circle, she made the decision to abort - even received the money from a mother figure to support this abortion decision. The appointment was placed and the time confirmed. The decision appeared to be final.

Moments before walking through the steel double doors of the clinic, there was an overwhelming conviction that came over this single parent mother of two sons. “This could be the daughter that you always wanted and if you can take care of two, you can take care of three.” I truly thank God for that still voice that kept her from aborting. Yes, that baby that she was carrying in her womb filled with uncertainty of what the future would hold was me.
